Beginning in October, All Nations Indian Church invites youth and adults to join us for a community read of Runs with Courage by Joan M. Wolf.

Set in 1880, the novel follows Four Winds, a Lakota girl whose life is changed when she is taken from her family and sent to the Carlisle Indian Industrial School. Through her story, the book opens conversations about family, identity, culture, boarding schools, resilience, and what it means to hold onto who you are.

For youth through adults. Read individually, as a family, or with friends.

Sign up to participate, and we’ll send you a discussion and reflection guide to use as you read. Then we’ll come together for a community gathering to share a meal, talk about the book, and reflect on what its story asks us to remember and carry forward.
